Dave's Ramblings

Well hello everyone, I am writing this after having a real good time out at the races. I don't believe I have been out there when the weather was as nice as it was today. I saw some old friends, made some new ones & enjoyed some good racing. This weekend was a good time all around. It was a good time on the riverfront, even though it was a very long day it was very enjoyable. This past week we had two events that will help the chapter. We got a call from Chrystal from the Chiefs asking if we could get a group to work a game. Well we got a crew together & it was one of the most successful nights we have had working the games. Then on Saturday we worked the Coke stand at the Grand Nationals. I can not say enough thanks to the people who help out on these occasions. It is because of things like this that helps make the chapter strong. I think the state has changed it logo to a orange construction cone. I don't believe that a person can travel too far without encountering a work zone. I get mad, moan & groan, but in the end, the work that is being done really makes the roads so much nicer. I guess what I am saying is that with some bad, good things can come out of it. To the ones who went down to the Fulton County Rodeo/ West Central Party I hope you enjoyed yourself. It was a very warm day down there. Also the State Police decided to do a "safety" check. My opinion is that if it is a safety check, then check out my bike for safety features, not just to see if I am properly licensed. I know that I wouldn't complain if a check was being done, but do not discriminate on just bikers. That day while stopping bikes & checking for license, the police let people pass not wearing a seat belt. That is pure bull to do that. Butch is going full bore on trying to organize something for next year. He will be having meetings on what we have to do, so if you have any thought on this let him know or bring them up at a meeting. What might start out small could turn into a real good event if everybody helps out. So lets all try to have good outlook on this before we get into the "IT AIN'T GONNA WORK" mode. In closing I want to remind everyone that on Sept 19Th we will be doing the BASH ride. I hope the chapter is well represented. This is probably the only ride where you only have to pay $5.00 to go on. It has always been a good turnout & we have donated a lot of money to the 2 food pantries. In these tough times I know that once again bikers will come forward & do the best they can do. Well I hope everyone continues the good weather as summer begins to wind down. Just remember to always lookout for yourself, because the person on the cell phone is looking out for you.
